Greetings readers I hope everyone is having a wonderful week, as we all know their has been such a huge concern about mental health issues globally also I have been answering a lot of questions on one of my social platforms in regards to bullying, abandonement, and the importance of Integrity. Most common problems of girls are appearance, education, dating, friendship, self-esteem, peer pressure, substance use, menstruation and depression. My focus here at 65 Max foundation is to allign the needs for our girls by Helping her to carve a positive self-image and increase their confidence level. Enabling them to develop the ability to think critically and Ensuring that they have equal participation in decision making, whether it’s in their family or at the community level by Providing economic independence to girls is essential. I was reading an article from the University of Nevada who implied For nearly all teens in the U.S., social media is a fact of life. According to the Pew Research Center, social media is “nearly ubiquitous” in the lives of teens. From the perspective of most teens and many parents and educators, this is good news: social media benefits adolescents and teens by helping them develop communication skills, make friends, pursue areas of interest, and share thoughts and ideas.
With that statement being true to a point 🙂 In my opinion! Too much passive use of social media – just browsing posts – can be unhealthy and has been linked to feelings of envy, inadequacy and less satisfaction with life. Studies have even suggested that it can lead to ADHD symptoms, depression, anxiety and sleep deprivation.cyberbullying (bullying using digital technology) invasion of privacy, identity theft, your child seeing offensive images and messages also the presence of strangers who may be there to ‘groom’ other members. 65 Max foundations goal mentoring services for the future, is to Communicate program/activity goals to our youth consistently. I personally like to establish More small-group work and include Regular check-ins and wrap-ups, Put youth in charge, Mutual accountability.
I am also utilizing my radio platform to offer some valuable resources not only for our youth but for me and other adults, professionals as well, to be able to attain resources at their leisure 🙂 their will be a list of resources on the website as an usefull tool when needed.
